Our transition from Food Made Good HK to Future Green

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Transitioning may have been confusing for a lot of you, and we understand this – however, rest assured, we are always there to provide you with the best possible services and to accompany you in your sustainability journey. Our team, led by Heidi, is committed to offer the best opportunities to our Members.

This FAQs is meant to answer any questions you may still have on our transition from Food Made Good HK to Future Green.

What happened to Food Made Good HK?

Food Made Good HK has fully transitioned to Future Green and has ceased operations in Hong Kong while all Food Made Good’s global operations have been centralised and are entirely managed by the Sustainable Restaurant Association in London. Audits will only be administered by the Sustainable Restaurant Association and can be taken independently from us.

We will continue supporting businesses to prepare them for the Food Made Good Audits. However, our scope of work has broadened to encompass industries beyond F&B.

I was a Food Made Good HK Member. What happens to my membership?

Former Food Made Good HK Members have automatically been converted to Future Green Members as of January 17th, 2023. There is no Food Made Good HK Membership Programme anymore although you can be accredited by the Sustainable Restaurant Association for the audits.

Membership benefits remain mostly the same including Members’ Meetups and Spotlights. From September 1st 2023, Future Green Members can enjoy our new benefits. Read more here

Am I still eligible for my Food Made Good Audit?

Some of you may still be eligible for an audit if:

  • You have not been accredited in the past 24 months.
  • You have joined Future Green as a Food Made Good HK Member before January 17th, 2023.

Keep in mind that the audit will be entirely administered by the Sustainable Restaurant Association at no extra cost. However, Future Green Members who have joined after January 17th, 2023 may still take the audit independently from us and may contact the Sustainable Restaurant Association for the process and cost.

If needed, we can put you in contact with the Sustainable Restaurant Association.

How are Future Green services different from Food Made Good HK?

Our company structure has not changed: we remain a purpose-led B Corp delivering food sustainability solutions. However, the evolution of our services means we can reach a wider audience including schools, corporates and food & beverage brands. We continue to leverage and promote our network to spotlight our sustainable restaurants, chefs and suppliers so they are leading by example, and connect them to the public and the wider community.

We now focus our services on food sustainability strategy, facilitation and workshops, and training teams, giving them the skills to confidently implement projects. We will support businesses by ensuring their food sustainability policies are robust and up to date so they can best meet the needs of their target audience.

Will there be an Awards ceremony?

Due to the very limited number of Members still eligible to have their Food Made Good audit as part of their previous Food Made Good HK Membership, we will not run the Food Made Good HK Awards. However, due to popular demand for an annual gathering, we will schedule another end-of-the-year event similar to our  UnConference. Stay tuned!
