Food Made Good HK Awards Winners Lunch 2022 – An afternoon at The Aubrey, Mandarin Oriental
By: Belinda Ng
On Monday the 5th of December, winners from the ten categories of the 2022 Food Made Good HK Awards alongside our Sponsors were treated to a celebratory meal at the Japanese Izakaya The Aubrey. Also in attendance at the celebratory meal were representatives from Henderson Land Group (the Award’s Lead Sponsor), Hashtag Legend (Media partner), Debbie Wong (Awards Presenter), and the Food Made Good HK team.
High up on the 25th floor of the Mandarin Oriental, attendees gathered in a beautiful setting to enjoy a delicious set lunch. Where available, all ingredients for the lunch were sourced sustainably and ethically. Moreover, the menu provided was carbon labeled in line with the sustainability ethos of the Awards – we learnt that these labels had influenced the choice our diners made which is fantastic, some choosing the tofu option over the chicken option.
The meal started off with a complementary Harmony cocktail made with Sweet Potato Shochu, Citrus, and Sauvignon Blanc. Edamame and Dried Blowfish, so refreshing and light, perfect for a lunch. For the main course, guests enjoyed a three-layer Bento set with Chawanmushi, Tsukemono, Pumpkin Kakiage Tempura, Bara Maki and Nigiri Selection, Kaiso Salad, and Miso Soup. There was also a choice of either Chicken Katsu Sando or Tofu Steak with Ankake Mushrooms for the vegetarians. Dessert was a Yuzu Tart, offering a well-balance of the sweetness and acidity to finish off the lunch.

The atmosphere and views at the Aubrey were fantastic, and many great conversations were held over the delicious food.
All smiles for the photos from our Winners Lunch attendees!
Food Made Good HK CEO and Founder Heidi Yu-Spurrell also delivered a short speech to congratulate the Award winners and thank the generous sponsors. She wrapped up the speech by reminding attendees about the importance of “putting sustainability into your budget for next year”.
