DESIGN THINKING TOOLS TO HELP YOU CREATE YOUR ACTION PLAN
“It’s my second workshop with Future Green and one may think there might be a bit of repetition – but no, the team constantly refresh their content, keep things up to date and interesting with new activities. Engaging, informative and insightful as always.” – Samantha Chung, B Lab HK & Macau (Growth and Activation Lead)
What’s special about our course? MODULES
Module 1 – Nature, Climate and Society
The Carbon Literacy Shareable Food Course looks at the broader sustainability picture of the food system using the Planetary Boundaries model. Climate change impacts and solutions are explored alongside areas such as biodiversity loss and land-use change.
Module 2 – The Power of Personal Change
A short section on personal carbon footprints allows employees to understand their opportunities to make sustainable choices, see how this relates to healthy diets, and then extend this awareness to discussions and collaboration around organisational goals.
Module 3 – Farming for our Future
Module 3 looks at agricultural practices. For many in the food and hospitality sector, there has been a tendency to focus on reducing emissions in their own operations, covering scopes 1 and 2. Whilst this reduction is an essential part of a comprehensive net-zero plan, when we look at the full footprint of an organisation, land use and on-farm emissions represent the most significant opportunity for companies to play their part in reaching net zero.
Module 4 – the Environment is our Business
Module 4 looks at key business themes from the Science Based Targets Initiative, to emissions scopes and gives employees the opportunity to select, discuss and brainstorm ideas around the organisation’s carbon hotspots.
Meet Your Trainers
MEET HEIDI YOUR TRAINER AND FACILITATOR
My background is in food policy, marketing, and food service. I’m also an enthusiastic Workshopper (AJ&Smart Sprint Method) – a great tool for aligning teams around prioritising challenges. My company Future Green consults with food businesses and runs a membership programme in Hong Kong, supporting over 50 members each month. I also have 5000+ hours of training and workshopping experience to ensure learning is an enjoyable and memorable experience.
In this group program, I’ll help you catalyse action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions both individually and in the workplace. All of this is helping to position you as a climate champion. And I can’t wait to show you how…
Meet Your Trainers
MEET Emma YOUR CO TRAINER AND FACILITATOR
During my 25-year career in the sustainability sector, I have gained invaluable experience working with businesses to understand, commit to, and achieve their climate goals.
I founded Lighthouse in 2020 to deliver impactful advice, coaching and training. I began to focus on Carbon Literacy as a tool to build capacity and empower employees in 2021 and have led the team to deliver more than 50 courses and train almost 700 learners to date. Some of those trained include leadership teams from Beko PLC, KBR Inc, Crown Worldwide, Turley and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Fund.
Increasing capacity in the training sector is something I am committed to as this is currently a bottleneck for supporting the population to access climate emergency training. Lighthouse’s recently developed and certified Carbon Literacy Train the Trainer course is testament to this.
